Application for volunteer fire department

The thesis deals with the development of a web application for volunteer firefighters. The application allows a firefighter to respond to the incident notification and display the status of individual members on the monitor in the fire station. The aplication provides user authentication and allows the viewing of information about the incident, including participating firefighters. The application receives incident information via the web application interface from Raspberry Pi, which reads and formats SMS messages.
Evaluation of the investigation of fire causes in big accidents

The objective of this work is analysis of current status in the sector of detection of the causes of fire in the Czech Republic, including embedding of this activity in legislation, make an overview of major fires in the Czech Republic in recent 10 years and make a statistic of fires, which caused damages exceeding CZK 5 million. Evaluate these events in terms of causes of fire. Next objective of the work is analysis of the hazard and expected specialities on the investigation spot of fire causes and evaluate the differences in procedure of investigating causes of fires in terms of major events. It solves the activities and cooperation of investigator of causes of fires with commander of intervention and unit with respect to maintaining of stops for consequent documentation and investigation. Make a design for equipment for investigator of causes of fires and make a design for protection against hazard which is on the place of intervention.
Evaluation of the structural static condition of the existing structure

This thesis focuses on the assessment of the structural-statical condition of a building affected by a fire. The purpose of the evaluation is to determine the extent of damage and explore possibilities for future use. The theoretical part introduces the issue of fires in various structures and examines the impact of fire on different types of materials and constructions. In the practical part, there is an own evaluation of the object, a static assessment, the results of the inspection and a summary of the conclusions from the evaluation.
Post-fukushima precautions from the perspective of the fire department of Temelin Nuclear power plant

The aim of the thesis is to find out what impact the new measures have on the management of a severe accident from the point of view of the Temelín Nuclear Power Plant Fire and Rescue Service and their knowledge. All findings are based on the study of literature, electronic sources, internal documents, training materials of Temelín Nuclear Power Plant, laws and decrees. The theoretical part of this bachelor thesis describes the accident and the nature of the nuclear power plant. In the thesis you can find a description of the Temelín nuclear power plant itself, its history from its beginning to the present. Furthermore, I have described the principle of electricity production or preparedness for handling a severe accident. For this reason, the thesis mentions the emergency preparedness of the power plant and the procedures to reduce the consequences on the population The Fire brigade is an important aspect of this thesis. It is described in more detail here, from the distribution of personnel to the technology available to the Fire Department. For the purposes of the research, in the practical part of the bachelor thesis, a questionnaire was sent to the members of the fire brigade of the Temelín Nuclear Power Plant. Based on the analysis of the anonymous responses from the questionnaire, it appears that the employees of the Temelín NPP fire department have a sufficient amount of knowledge to be able to handle or reduce the consequences of a severe accident such as the Fukushima event.
Cross-border Cooperation in French-German Non-profit Organisations

This master's thesis pursues the questions of how the firefighters are organised in Germany and France and of what consequences the Covid-19 sanitary crisis had on their cross-border cooperation in the Upper Rhine region.The qualitative research has been carried out in the context of an internship at the central public administration for the fire and rescue services of the French department of Bas-Rhin. In total, three semi-structured interviews have been conducted with German voluntary and professional firefighters and two narrative interviews have been done with French administrative and operational staff of the training institution. Light has been shed on the terms cross-border cooperation, civil security, risk management and the communication of risks, organisational structures and culture as well as on the European funding programme INTERREG and the current situation of projects involving firefighters.

The Acitivity of Climbing Units within the Firefighters Rescue squad of Hradec Králové region

Title: The Acitivity of Climbing Units within the Firefighters Rescue squad of Hradec Králové region Objective: The main objective of this thesis is the description of the intervention and training activities of the Fire Brigade of the Hradec Králové region, concretely climbing groups, inprevious two years. Another aim is to compare their undertaken training activities with the regulatory requirements and demands on members of climbing groups. Methods: Preparation of research based on available materials for the theoretical part. Different statistics prepared by instructors of climbing groups were used for practical part. Last but not least method is the evaluation of interviews with instructors and members of climbing groups. Results: The results which are based on records of individual instructors of climbing groups show that the training activities exceed regulatory prescribed range of training activities. Furthermore the interviews with instructors and members of the climbing group show excellent readiness to deal with emergencies at height and rescue. Village Pátek during 20th century

This bachelor thesis deals the village Pátek during the history. The main part of thesis is 19th and especially 20th century. Are important events that had a major impact on the lives of citizens. The beginning is describes several events from earlier period, which significantly changed the character of village. In the century are then collected separately and described some important points in the village, consisting primarily of buildings (mills, school) or economic sectors (fish farming), which at that time played an important role, whether cultural or business, the lives of the villagers. The focus works are the memorial books and chronicles, to a lesser extent, the recorders of the meeting of the National Committee. To complement and improve some information was also used in the memories of several witnesses.
Posttraumatic stress and posttraumatic growth in members of fire rescue service

Posttraumatic stress and posttraumatic growth in members of fire rescue service (Abstract) Firefighters often work under circumstances that endanger their lives or physical integrity and witness traumatic experiences of other people while managing effects of devastating emergency situations. As a result of this exposure they can suffer from trauma and stress related disorders. However, traumatic experiences may also offer potential for growth. This thesis is aimed at posttraumatic stress - symptoms of posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and posttraumatic growth in members of fire rescue service. The main objective is widening of existing posttraumatic research in professional rescuers with findings from multinational sample of firefighters. Sample consisted of firefighters from Czech Republic (N=302) and six other European countries (N=2241). Study was carried out through questionnaire-based data gathering. Symptoms of posttraumatic stress were assessed via self-rating measure Impact of event scale - revised, posttraumatic growth via Posttraumatic growth inventory - short form. Comparison of Czech and European firefighters was made with the premise that among members of this professional group there would be found no differences.
